A Las Vegas police officer is being applauded for his kind act after this photo was posted on social media. Woman pulled over by cop gets her tire changed instead
Dorothy Ortiz was driving to work during rush hour, singing and dancing, when a trooper started tailing her all they way into a parking lot where she stopped.
“I was driving to work and I noticed an officer following me,” “I just figured, he’s going to give me a ticket for something,” says Ortiz.
He asked her to lower her window. And that is when she was surprised bu what he said.
“And that’s when he told me I had a flat tire,” says Ortiz. “I just figured the officer was going to keep driving.”
But instead of driving away, the officer started changing her tire she reports.
“That’s when I realized, Wow. There really are good people out there.”
Ortiz quickly took out her smartphone and captured the moment on camera.
“It was like shares, after shares, after shares,” she says.
She shared the image with the tag line “They do not get recognition,” on Facebook and thousands of likes followed.
When contacted by the press, the officer wanted to remain anonymous and didn’t want any attention. He said he was simply doing his job.
“Thank you very much,” says Ortiz. “I really appreciate it. Everyone told me I could’ve gotten into a car accident.”
“At the end of the day, he did save my life.” says Oritz
